Loewen Celebrating 110 Years in Business

Loewen, originally a small millwork company, is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year. Loewen has grown over the past century into a widely recognized premium brand in the window and door industry, with a customer base across North America and in international markets. Loewen’s quality crafted windows are known for their strength, performance and architectural distinction. The window and door manufacturer has had deep community roots in Steinbach, Manitoba since 1905.

“We are proud of this milestone and want to recognize the dedication of all our employees, dealers and business partners throughout the years in helping build the company – this kind of longevity is rare in any industry and reflects the enduring quality of the Loewen brand,” said Al Babiuk, President and Chief Executive Officer for Loewen.

Clyde Loewen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing also commented,”The story of the creation and growth of Loewen is deeply tied to the Loewen family and to the growth of the city of Steinbach itself. The culture, institutions and ethics of the community has supported the foundation and progress of Loewen and in turn the local culture and institutions have been prominently supported over the years by Loewen.”

Loewen will be celebrating 110 years by holding an open-house on Friday June 26th from 2:30 –4:30 p.m. for all current and past employees as well as community members. The open-house will be held in the Loewen Pavilion on the east side of Loewen’s office and manufacturing plant at 77 Highway 52 West, Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada.

In commemorating 110 years of proud heritage, additional events are planned for 2015 including a Loewen museum. A preview showing of the items that will be included in the Loewen museum will be on display at the open-house, which will showcase the Company’s rich and proud history.
